October 28 - The Future Flasher

October 27th - Nanny

I had a Nanny named Candace come play with me today, and she'll be here Tuesday and Wednesday as well. We had lots of fun playing and reading every book I had and she brought with her. We also played outside and tried out my new sidewalk chalk. Very fun!

October 26 - Molars

I had a pretty good weekend, except today, I had a rough one!! We went to Costco and had a great time. I was the Belle of the Bulk Shopping! I was busy looking through my coupon book when we were going through the checkout line, and the women working at Costco thought it was SO great! They wanted to take my picture and submit it to Costco's headquarters.

The trouble started when we headed to Safeway. I started getting very upset. Mom and Dad initially thought I was just tired, but I escalated into full-sized wailing and screaming and crying. It lasted the entire time we were in Safeway (Momma even took me out of the store to the car and I just couldn't calm down), and all the way home. Daddy bought some Baby Orajel because I had both fingers in the mouth and was chewing ferociously. When Mommy was putting it on my gums, she discovered I had a molar break through!! Sure explains the extreme pain. Made mommy and daddy so sad that I was in such pain. :-(

Hopefully Tylenol will work for me tonight and I will have a good night's sleep.

This coming week will be interesting. I am having a Nanny come stay with me for 3 days while Grandma and Grandpa are in Hawaii.

October 24 - Halloween costume

Mommy got me a Halloween costume today, and I just had to try it on. I'm not sure if I'm FiFi the Poodle, or FiFi the Lamb. :-)

 
 
 
 

October 24 - Not much new to report

I think I've been too tired to post lately. I haven't been sleeping well, in part because I'm cutting molars and I wake up often in PAIN! By around 4 in the morning, it seems like the Tylenol wears off. Mom and Dad are having a very hard time consoling me, and twice in the last week, I've wanted Daddy only, so he's had to take me downstairs and walk me until I fall asleep on him for an hour or two.

I'm picking up new words-- Hawaii, broccoli, computer, to name a few. I usually say them best when I first try them. For instance, 'broccoli' has gone from 'brog-lee' to "doo-gee" or something like that. and computer has gone from a 3 syllable thing (per grandma) to "dtoo-dter" But it'll come :-)

Not much on the ska-doolie for this weekend. I think we'll carve our pumpkins, and I'm looking forward to that.

Grandma and Grandpa leave for Hawaii tomorrow, and I'll miss them very much! Mom and Dad hired a nanny for 3 days next week. It'll be the first time we try it. Should be interesting!

I'm hopefully getting a Halloween costume today. Mommy has conflicted feelings about getting a costume, since I won't be trick-or-treating. BUT-- It could be fun to have a costume to dress up in, until I out-grow it! When you're my age, who cares if it's Halloween or not!!! :-)

OK, I'm off for a nap. I'm going to visit Grandma at her work today, so that should be fun. She said most of her unit doesn't work on Fridays, but I'm not going there to visit THEM, I'm going to say, "Aloha" to G'ma! :-)

If anything interesting happens today, Mommy promises to write another blog!

October 12 - BiZi Farms

I had the BEST day today! I went to BiZi Farms with my parents and my grandparents and my cousin Brittnee and my friend Alyssa and her mommy Renae. We got to go to the haystack pyramid, Pumpkin Launch, petting zoo, had fresh apple cider, and we went on a hayride to the Pumpkin Patch, where we got to pick out pumpkins. It was SO much fun, and I was so exhausted that I fell asleep on the way to and stayed asleep while my parents and Renae/Alyssa had lunch at Red Robin!

The day was not without a bit of trauma and drama. A turkey decided my finger looked like a pretty good snack and pecked at it a few times. Oh it scared me! And, OH, it hurt!! It didn't break the skin, fortunately. Mommy and Grandma tried for a long time to comfort me, but it took the love of a little rabbit to finally calm me down. You can see in one of the pictures that I am looking at the bunny (which I enjoyed petting), and there are still big tears rolling down my face!

Fortunately, after I saw the bunny I felt much better. I even went to look at the turkeys (with Grandma holding me up out of harm's way) before we left the petting area.

 
 
 
 

October 11 - Birdfest and Bluegrass

We had a fun day today. It started with me in my jammies wanting to wear my pink fleece vest and sun hat. It continued with a trip to downtown Ridgefield to enjoy the Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge Annual Bird Fest and Bluegrass Festival. Oh, I LOVED dancing to the music!! And picking up rocks... and discarded trash... I was doing my best to beautify downtown Ridgefield! Here are some pics and a slideshow from that day.

 
 
 
 

October 10 - Body Bib

Grammy Turner got me this great Body Bib several months ago (I think she brought it during her late winter/early spring trip) Anyway, I've become such an 'enthusiastic' eater that Mom thought it might be a good idea for me to wear this when I'm eating couscous. I liked wearing it so much on Friday that, after Dad took it off of me at lunch time, I brought it over to him so he could put it back on!

By the way, tomorrow (I'm looking into the future), I will say, "More cracker" to my mom and dad. They will be most impressed!

 
 
 
 

October 3 - A typical day

It occurred to Mommy that it's been 2 weeks since the last blog update (this is being written on 10-13). My Goodness!! So, while we can't remember what HAPPENED on October 3rd, I know that a day usually includes lounging in my PJ's until after lunch, then a wardrobe change, and then a nice leisurely nighttime bath. :-)
