August 25 - Gaylor family photos

We got my family together to have our pics taken by a local photographer. Katie had a tough time with it, but you can't quite tell in these photos. The group shots, she was sniffling and big tears were dripping off her nose :-(

Those pictures will be interesting. The more the photog tried to engage her, the more upset she got. Too bad, too, because she was as cute as a bug's ear!


 
 
 
 

August 17-- Roll On, Maggie roll on...

Here is the video, as promised... we did well delivering it just aay after mentioned :-)

I'll have to have Kev show me how to do this so we can post videos more often.

August 16 - How could I forget to blog about August 11th???

What an exciting day August 11th was!! While we were at the G'rents (or "Grandma, Grandma Grandpa's", as Katie calls it), Maggie rolled over. THREE TIMES!!!! Twice to the right and once to the left! randma missed the first one, but Maggie did 2 encores before she'd had enough.

It was VERY exciting!! Especially since she was just 11 weeks, 2 days old! I remember clearly when Katie first rolled over. We (including my folks) were in Vermont visiting Grammy & staying with her at her timeshare. Katie rolled over in front of everyone except me, I think (ARGH!!) She repeated the performance for everyone, and I remember thinking how special it was that she waited until she was with Grammy to roll over.

It was on her 4th month birthday, to boot!!

Anyway, Maggie decided to impress us again by rolling over 3 or 4 times. This time, Kevin witnessed, and we have good video (good meaning she's not crying) as well.

Oh-- here's a funny thing (probably only funny to us). Today Kevin was going outside, and Katie said, "I want to go outside 'also'?" We were impressed by her use of also, as we'd expected her to use the word "too" instead. She has such a large vocabulary, but it still surprises us when she uses unexpected words. There are SO many examples of this that we can't keep up (and really, it'd probably only be interesting to us!) :-)

August 14 - Katie's "first" haircut!

We took Katie in for her very first haircut (in a salon, anyway). She doesn't look a whole lot different, as she more or less just did bangs.

Katie was pretty anxious, but she handled the experience like the champ she is! I'm glad Grandma was there for the cut, as I think Katie found it very reassuring to have Ma, Pa & G'ma there for moral support :-)

Not much to say here, except that we've had lots of fun moments that I've failed to capture :-)

Katie is so much fun, when she's not being "two" (infer what you want here, smile) We love having little conversations with her, and she constantly cracks us up.

Maggie is now 11 weeks old (I'm writing this Aug 9, 2009). She smiles and laughs and is an absolute joy. I'm almost embarrassed to say how much she sleeps at night. She's been sleeping 7 - 10 hours since she was probably 3 weeks old.

I don't know why I'm exhausted all the time. Maybe because chasing a 2-year old and nursing Maggie full time is pretty exhausting :-)
