Maggie graduates to a crib!

 
We finally managed to pick up the used crib that Deanna's friend Cindy promised to give us. So yesterday was moving day for Maggie because at the same time we picked up the crib, we dropped off the bassinet to Steve and Christy, who just had their second (baby Emma) on Friday. I can't say that Maggie's first night in the crib was very spectacular. After a couple of failed attempts, Deanna managed to get her settled in there sometime before 10 p.m., but she only lasted a few hours before she missed us terribly (or got cold, or hungry, or...). She spent the rest of the night in our bed. But then again, we knew it would be a process, so hopefully tonight will be better.

We also haven't managed to convert the guest room (where the new crib is) into a real nursery yet, so that's really the next step...

October 17 - Happiest-Almost-5-Month-On-The-Planet

OK, so that title is a little long... I think I'll just call her "Maggie"! She continues to thrive and amaze us. She can sit up for at least 10 seconds unaided. Today, up on the bathroom counter, she was doubled over (but, I'll call it sitting) for over a minute... Ahhhhhhhmazing!        

Speaking of "amazing", Katie continues to astound us with her incredible memory. The other morning, I was telling Katie how we were going to go to BiZi Farms this weekend and how they had ponies there she could ride. I said, "Do you remember the name of the pony you rode at the Champlain Valley Fair in Vermont?" She thought about it a moment and said, "Sprinkles!!" And she was right-- and it's probably been 6 weeks since she rode that pony! I was blown away.
