Mommy and I went to the zoo today, and it really WAS a zoo!!! It seemed like every school district had an outing there this morning. It was SO PACKED!!! Despite the maddeningly huge crowds, we had a good time. We met Christian and Nicole and their 2 ea kids. It was VERY hot. The temperature in Portland reached at least 98 degrees. We went early when it was in the 70's and it was in the 80's by the time we left the park around 12:30.
Mommy will attach pictures after she gets 'em loaded onto the computer (don't hold your breath!!) :-)
Mommy then took me to her office so she could pick up a couple of things, change my diaper and clothes, and to wash the sunscreen off my face (I had a bit of a reaction to the sun screen and the right side of my face was really splotchy) It was nice to see her co-workers, although we missed a few I would have liked to see.
After we left Con-way, we went to the G'rents. Mommy gave me some of the good milk and G'pa came home while I was nursing. Mommy tried to put me down for a nap but I was a little too warm. I didn't cry, but it was obvious I was not gonna take a nap. So, grandpa worked his mojo and I ended up with about an hour tummy time. I woke up really sweaty!!
Mommy was shopping, so Grandma tried to give me some applesauce, which I did not want, so she ended up giving me a bottle. I have started to become a discriminating eater and pretty much had just cheerios most of the day. I'm starting to assert myself when it comes to food, and I'm starting to reject things that I've really liked in the past I guess I like to mix it up for my folks and g'folks. I don't like being predictable :-)
Mommy and I went to the grocery store after we left the g'rents. We picked up some organic strawberries, meats & cheeses and other good picnic food. I was not a big fan of turkey or swiss cheese, but I loved my peas and strawberries, so I definitely didn't 'go hungry'.
Pretty soon I will get cleaned up and head for bed. It's so very hot in the house today, I sure hope I'm able to sleep OK.
